Enjoy British Columbia Ferry Travel this season
If you want to visit the west coast of Canada according to your travel plans, you simply have to experience British Columbia Ferry Travel at its best and take a ride on one of the beautiful BC Ferries! A trip on one of the many routes BC Ferries has to offer is simply a must when you visit the west coast.
The landscape on one of their routes is breathtaking!
Taking the ferry on one of the safest and largest fleets in the world is an experience that must be included in your family vacation plans. First, watch this excellent amateur video. I was so impressed with the video that I definitely thought it was worth sharing.
It even contains music from our own Canadian vocal sensation … Brian Adams. 🙂
The clip gives you a nice insight into what to expect when you sail on one of the many ships.

Spectacular scenery awaits you when driving with British Columbia Ferries
I grew up on the west coast of Vancouver Island in beautiful Victoria British Columbia and took the ferry more times than I can remember. I am still amazed at the natural beauty of crossing from and to Victoria to Vancouver.
I have traveled to many beautiful places around the world over the years, but every time we experience a trip on one of these beautiful ships, the spectacular landscape always surprises me.
The ferry crossing from Vancouver Island to the mainland is a dream come true for photographers!
BC Ferries operates all year round

The BC Ferry Service is operated by the provincial government in British Columbia. They are currently the largest passenger ferry in North America. The current fleet is 36, with many of the ships having been renovated over the years.
The fleet most recently serves 49 different locations around the British Columbia coast.
The most popular routes run from the mainland or the Vancouver region to the cities of Victoria and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. This crossing takes approximately 1½ hours each way.
This gives you enough time to enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants on board the ship and just sit back, relax and enjoy the natural beauty of your trip.
All passenger ferries are equipped for large and small vehicle traffic. Between these routes are two beautiful Super Ferries that can carry 2100 passengers with crew and up to 470 vehicles.

I took the photo above when I took a ferry in the opposite direction. This photo was taken in Active Pass on part of the trip from mainland Vancouver and from Vancouver Island to Victoria.
With Active Pass, you may be lucky enough to see BC's beautiful killer whales (orca) eating!
From semitrailers that transport goods to and from the mainland, to leisure vehicles, passenger cars and bicycles – BC has made traveling by ferry easy for all needs.
Go ahead or sail on these amazing ships
You can go on as a pedestrian, take a bus or board a ferry in your own vehicle, it's up to you! During the rush hours of the year (May – September) if you continue, booking the ferry is easy and highly recommended.
It is very busy when tourists come, especially in the high summer months Vacation in Canada and who visit the islands on the west coast.
Many of the smaller ferries go to the many surrounding Gulf Islands and Discovery Islands on Canada's west coast. Each island is unique in its own way and is just waiting to be explored by you!
Camping, hiking, kayaking, bird watching, beach combing – everything awaits you here on the west coast. An outdoor adventure playground!

Over the years, we have seen killer whales, sea lions, seals, bald eagles and many more when we were on a ferry route. The ships are designed for tourist travel and have outdoor viewing platforms that surround the ship. They are equipped with all the amenities you need for your ferry crossing.
There are buffet restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, washrooms, private areas and much more on these ships. Ferry trips have never been so good!
