Nespresso is bringing sustainability to the fore by completing its new boutique store in The Podium on an area of 58 square meters. With the work of Universal Design Studio, an award-winning architecture and interior design firm founded by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, the store features tabletops made from used coffee grounds and 100% wood from reforestation programs. In collaboration with Negrense Volunteers for Change (NVC), the store is also showing some wall tiles that show how Nespresso pods can be upcycled and turned into beautiful, high quality works of art.

The new boutique is deliberately and meaningfully designed to celebrate coffee and its origins. The muted color palette of rich brown and crema-inspired gold combines with a luxurious atmosphere that soothes and satisfies the senses. The floor tiles and lamps are reminiscent of coffee farms, while the green mimics coffee plantations.

Fabio De Gregorio, Regional Business Development Manager, says: “The Nespresso story began with a simple but revolutionary idea: enable everyone to create the perfect cup of coffee, just like a seasoned barista. Since that beginning more than 30 years ago, Nespresso has revolutionized the way millions of people enjoy their coffee every day. It's in a Nespresso boutique like this one at The Podium, where you can experience what Nespresso is all about. The immersive experience offers deeper learning and coffee exploration to save visitors. Its specific elements and furniture represent the brand's deep commitment to sustainability and compliance with the circular economy. "

The last drop is not the last use

At the heart of Nespresso is a commitment to innovative solutions that ultimately protect and benefit society. Club members can have a positive impact on the lives of many people by participating in the Nespresso recycling program, in which used Nespresso coffee capsules are returned to the nearest boutiques or partner locations. All Nespresso capsules are made of aluminum, which is infinitely recyclable. Once the used coffee grounds are separated from the aluminum hulls, they are sent to local farms to be used as compost fertilizer, while the aluminum is sent to a local smelter to be recycled into everyday items.

All in all, Nespresso's efforts – including its products, coffee processes, and store design – are designed to inspire Filipinos to respond to the change the world needs to empower and uplift society. "Every innovation and sustainability solution is a means to a greater end: to benefit the earth, improve the life of the communities we are part of and encourage others to do the same," said Patrick Pesengco, CEO of Novateur Coffee Concepts .

The Nespresso Boutique in The Podium is on level 2. You can find the opening times at www.nespresso.ph
